This week’s recalls:

Overview of recalls in the 17th week of 2025
Two recalls for two models of two makes were announced via EU Safety Gate in the 17th week of 2025. Two recalls for three models of two manufacturers were published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
One recall each will be found this week in the European Safety Gate system for Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi.
Citroen and Tesla are all recalling through the German KBA.

Mitsubishi ASX exhaust
A poorly welded tailpipe as a reason for a Mitsubishi ASX recall first appeared in the Safety Gate (then Rapex) database in week 39 of 2018. If the weld breaks, part of the tailpipe can fall onto the road, posing a risk to surrounding traffic. Seven years ago, 133,572 model year 2011-2018 cars were recalled. This week, the recall is back under a different code, affecting 52,870 cars built between June 2010 and June 2019.
Power steering
In the case of Tesla, this is not a real recall as the owner does not have to go to the workshop and the fault is corrected by updating the software on the car via an internet connection, i.e. over the air (OTA). It affects 552,780 Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles manufactured between 28 February 2023 and 11 October 2023. The reason is a possible fault in the power steering.
Incorrect type label
An incorrect type label may be affixed to 2,191 Citroen Ami mini-electric cars manufactured between 17 July 2024 and 3 September 2024. In this case, the owner will have to go to an authorised workshop because his type label will be checked and, if necessary, replaced.
Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.
