Land Rover Defender: Risk of injury due to faulty backrest locking components

Land Rover is recalling 2,056 Defender models built in 2022. The reason for the recall is a faulty locking component of the third-row backrest. This could lead to the backrest not engaging properly. As a result, there is an increased risk of injury in the event of an accident, especially when using child seat systems with Isofix fastening without using the vehicle’s seat belts.

The seatback locking system is checked in the workshop, and the affected seatback frame is replaced if necessary. The KBA monitors the recall under the reference number “012759“, and the manufacturer-internal code is “N768“.
