Kia Sportage may face brake problems due to faulty vacuum pump

Kia is recalling 23,887 vehicles of the Sportage model series manufactured between 8. 9. 2022 and 14. 6. 2023. The reason for the recall is a damage to the vacuum pump that can lead to increased force being required when pressing the brake pedal and also the engine indicator light illuminating.

At an authorised workshop, the software of the engine control unit (ECM) is updated.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14840R“. The internal manufacturer code is “240S33“.
