Kia Soul EV: The vehicle may move with shift lever in P position

Kia is recalling 39,606 Soul EV vehicles manufactured between 2013 and 2018 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the unsuitable software logic of the transmission drive unit (GDU) can cause the vehicle to move when charging without manual actuation of the parking brake, even if the shift lever is in the P position.

In an authorised workshop, the software is updated.

The KBA monitors the recall under the reference number “013553“. The internal manufacturer code is “231127“.
