Fire risk with Mercedes-Benz EQA and EQB

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 33,705 EQA and EQB vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2024 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that a short circuit in the high-voltage battery can lead to a fire.

In an authorized workshop, the battery management system software will be updated. Until the remedy is available, customers will be instructed to charge the battery only up to a maximum of 80%.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14775R“. The internal manufacturer code is “5496507“.
