Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen and Opel vans may have poorly tightened dampers

Fiat is recalling 2,244 Scudo, Peugeot 515 Expert, Citroen 281 Jumpy and Opel 162 Vivaro vans manufactured between 10. 7. 2024 and 13. 2. 2025. The reason for the recall is insufficient tightening torque on the shock absorber screw connection that can lead to loss of the connection and thus to loss of vehicle control.

In an authorized workshop, all screws in the connection are replaced and the correct tightening torque is applied.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference numbers “14978R, 14977R, 14976R, 14979R“. The internal manufacturer codes are “F509“ for Fiat, “NU9“ for Citroen, “KRM“ for Opel, and “MWE“ for Peugeot

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact a dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.

Do you know the year Your car was made? You most likely don't.
