Failure of the eCall function in several Mercedes models

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 23,101 C-Class, EQE, SL, GLC, S-Class, AMG GT and EQS vehicles manufactured between 12 April 2021 and 12 June 2025 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the configuration of the communication module does not comply with the specification, which can damage the internal memory and result in permanent failure of the communication module and thus the eCall function (automatic and manual).

At an authorised workshop, the communication module will be replaced.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “15403R“. The internal manufacturer code is “5494024“.
