Electric Kia Niro may catch fire

Kia is recalling 12,147 Niro vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2022 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that worn contact surfaces on the safety connector of the high-voltage battery can lead to overheating. There is a risk of power loss and fire.

In an authorized workshop, the part of the high-voltage battery will be checked and replaced if necessary.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14845R“. The internal manufacturer code is “241123“.
