Possible steering failures
Almost 22,000 BMW 5 and 7 Series (including electric versions) from the year 2024 may have incorrectly manufactured and treated double universal joints. This may result in an unexpectedly stiff or sticky steering wheel. Also from 2024, 2,204 Jeep Avengers may experience cracks in the steering gear. Thirdly, the Peugeot 208 may have the same defect. This action is part of a wider Stellantis recall involving 7,292 DS3 Crossback, Fiat 600, Opel Corsa, Opel Mokka and Peugeot 208 cars built in April and May 2024, which we reported on in Week 39 of this year.
Central wheel nut on Porsche
Porsche is recalling 12,708 911, GT4, Panamera and Spyder vehicles built between 2023 and 2024. Improper bolting can damage the central wheel nut and cause it to loosen. There have already been 22 such cases, including 9 accidents. No personal injuries have been reported.
Manipulating emissions measurement at Audi
Audi is recalling 147,274 A4, A6, A8 and Q7 vehicles built between 2005 and 2010. This is due to the removal of unauthorised defeat devices or the unauthorised reduction of the efficiency of the emission control system. The engine control unit software will be updated at an authorised workshop.
