Overview of recalls in the 38 week of 2025
Eight recalls for 10 models of eight brands were announced via EU Safety Gate in the 38 week of 2025. Seven recalls for nine models of six brands have been published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
Two recall campaigns can be found this week in the European Safety Gate system for Lexus. One recall campaign has been issued by each of the following brands: Aston Martin, BMW, Citroen, DS, Opel, Peugeot and Toyota.
Through the German KBA, the Citroen, DS, Ford, Opel, Peugeot and Seat carmakers are recalling.

Fire risk
Peugeot is recalling 18,479 3008 and 508 vehicles produced between 2 July 2019 and 12 October 2022. The recall is due to a potential battery overheating issue, which could lead to a fire, even during charging. This issue may also affect 13,273 Citroën C5 Aircross and DS7 vehicles produced between 7 March 2019 and 27 September 2021, as well as 7,960 Opel Grandland X vehicles manufactured between 2 July 2019 and 19 August 2021. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, either the battery management system (BMS) software will be updated or the battery will be replaced at an authorised workshop.
Heating cable
Peugeot is recalling a further 4,001 vehicles from the 3008 and 5008 ranges, which were manufactured between 23 June and 20 August 2025. This is due to the 48V heater cable connection being incorrectly tightened, which could cause it to loosen and result in heater failure or overheating. An authorised workshop will check the 48V heating cable connection and, if necessary, tighten it to a torque of 8 Nm. If there are signs of overheating, the cable harness will be replaced.
Compressor
Some Lexus and Toyota models from 2022 to 2025 (see the table at the end of the article) may experience electric compressor failure. If this happens, the HVAC system will switch to emergency mode and turn off the heater. The defrost function will also be affected, meaning that frost, ice and/or fog may not be removed from the windscreen in cold temperatures. This can reduce visibility and increase the risk of an accident.
