Citroën C5 Aircross: Water penetration can lead to battery fire

Citroën is recalling 23,917 C5 Aircross vehicles from the production period 2020 to 2023. The reason for the measure is that water penetration can lead to rusting through the battery reinforcement and the battery box. This can result in a battery or vehicle fire in the worst case.

The corrosion protection of the battery pack is improved in the workshop. The KBA is investigating the measure under the reference number “012666“, and the manufacturer’s internal code is “JHW“.
