Chevrolet Spark: The bonnet may open unexpectedly

Chevrolet is recalling 224,887 units of the Spark model manufactured between 2010 and 2015 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the bonnet may not latch properly when closing due to corrosion. At high speeds, this can cause the bonnet to open unexpectedly and significantly restrict the driver’s view.

At the authorised workshop the bonnet closer and latch are replaced by a version with improved corrosion resistance.

The KBA monitors the recall under the reference number “013448“. The internal manufacturer code is “KDX“.
