Some BMW X1/iX1 SUVs must have defective B-pillars replaced

BMW is recalling 25,059 vehicles of the X1, iX1 model series manufactured between 17. 9. 2024 and 22. 10. 2024. The reason for the recall is the B-pillar reinforcement that was made from a material that was too hard/brittle. This alters the crash characteristics, which can lead to an increased risk of injury in the event of an accident.

At an authorised workshop, the B-pillar is inspected and replaced if necessary.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14481R“. The internal manufacturer codes are “0041340200, 0041350200, 0041380200, 0041390200“.
