BMW recalls four models due to faulty safety sensors

BMW is recalling 24,041 1 Series, 2 Series, X1 and X2 vehicles manufactured between 30 July and 13 October 2025 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that sensor pins damaged during installation could cause the sensitivity sensors (acceleration and rotation measurement) on the outer seats of the second row to fail. This may result in insufficient protection.

At an authorized workshop, the outer seat belts in the second row will be checked and replaced if necessary.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “15733R“. The internal manufacturer codes are “0072910200, 0072900200, 0072860200, 00728502, 007284020000“.
