BMW is recalling 2,184 X5, X5M, X6, X6M, X7 and X7M built in 2023 to workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is a faulty gas generator which, in the event of accidental activation, leads to a reduced protective effect of the knee airbag, increasing the risk of injury.
On the affected vehicles, the driver and/or passenger side knee airbag is replaced. The KBA monitors the measure under the reference number “012984” and the internal manufacturer code is “0072510200“.
