BMW 7 Series and I7: The wiper arm may stop in any position

BMW is recalling 14,790 BMW 7 Series and I7 vehicles built between 2022 and 2023 to workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the lever for torque transmission from the axle on the wiper arm on the driver’s side can come loose. This can cause the wiper arm to stop in any position. It is not expected that parts will detach from the vehicle and enter the traffic area.

The wiper linkage is checked and replaced at the workshop. The KBA investigates the incident under the reference number “013189” and the internal manufacturer code is “0061100800“.

What should an owner do if there's a recall?

Please note that the recall may not apply to all vehicles produced in a given period. If you think your car might be affected, you should immediately contact a dealer or workshop officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. You can use our sample request text. After reporting the vehicle's VIN code, you will find out if the defect is present on your car, or if it has already been resolved by the previous owner if the car was purchased second-hand.

If you wish to know more about the eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accident damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), in that case, we suggest going to this page.

Do you know the year Your car was made? You most likely don't.
