21 recalls for 11 Opel models in 2023
Opel has 21 recalls for 11 models in the EU Safety Gate (formerly Rapex) system for 2023. It moved up one place in the overall standings to fourth place compared to last year.
Opel’s most recalled model is the Grandland SUV, which has had seven recalls. The Astra had five recalls in 2023, and the Combo, Corsa, Mokka, Vivaro and Zafira were recalled thrice. The oldest Opels to be recalled are from 2016.
Safety Gate does not provide the numbers of potentially affected cars in its reports, so we always verify them from other sources. Since the beginning of 2023, we have also been monitoring the database of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA, Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt), which publishes the numbers and also often includes Opel recalls that Safety Gate does not record. Some of them can be found below.
