11 recalls for 5 Land Rover models in 2023
Land Rover has 11 recalls for 5 models in the EU Safety Gate (formerly Rapex) system for 2023. Land Rover moved into the top ten in the overall table from eleventh place last year.
Land Rover’s most recalled models are the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, which have seven recalls. The Defender had four recalls in 2023. The oldest recalled Land Rovers are from 2006.
Safety Gate does not provide the numbers of potentially affected cars in its reports, so we always verify them from other sources. Since the beginning of 2023, we have also been monitoring the database of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA, Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt), which publishes the numbers and also often includes Land Rover recalls that Safety Gate does not record. Some of them can be found below. Also new is a link to our other website with Land Rovers’ recalls in the USA.

Check also the Service Bulletin (TSB)
This summary is not intended to provide comprehensive information on all Land Rover recalls in 2023. Only those that have been reported to the European Safety Gate alert system are listed. In addition to recalls, car manufacturers also carry out so-called service campaigns (Technical Service Bulletin – TSB), which are not reported anywhere and are only carried out on vehicles that arrive at an authorised workshop for servicing. We describe the difference between a recall and a service campaign in more detail in this article. This overview should prompt second-hand owners of older cars to contact an authorised workshop and ask if any recall or service campaign has been announced for a particular car. We advise how to do this here.
