6 recalls for 13 Audi models in 2023
Audi has six recalls for 13 models in the EU Safety Gate (formerly Rapex) system for 2023. Audi moved from fourteenth to fifteenth place in the overall ranking year-on-year.
The most recalled Audi models are the Audi A4 and A5 with two recalls. Another 11 models have one recall each. The oldest Audi recalled was produced in 2004.
Safety Gate does not provide the numbers of potentially affected cars in its reports, so we always verify them from other sources. Since the beginning of 2023, we have also been monitoring the database of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA, Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt), which publishes the numbers and also often includes Audi recalls that Safety Gate often does not record. Some of them can be found below. Also new is a link to our other website with Audi recalls in the USA.

Check also the Service Bulletin (TSB)
This summary is not intended to provide comprehensive information on all Audi recalls in 2023. Only those that have been reported to the European Safety Gate alert system are listed. In addition to recalls, car manufacturers also carry out so-called service campaigns (Technical Service Bulletin – TSB), which are not reported anywhere and are only carried out on vehicles that arrive at an authorised workshop for servicing. We describe the difference between a recall and a service campaign in more detail in this article. This overview should prompt second-hand owners of older cars to contact an authorised workshop and ask if any recall or service campaign has been announced for a particular car. We advise how to do this here.
