2021: Seat & Cupra recalls

Last update 16. 02. 2024

Three recalls for six Seat & Cupra models in 2021

Seat has announced three recalls in 2021 through the Rapex system, affecting six of Seat & Cupra models.

Seat is trying to present Cupra as a standalone brand, but the parent carmaker still announces the recalls for its formerly sporty division. That’s why we also have both brands in a joint review.

Around 5,500 Seat Atecas and Tarracos built in 2020 and 2021 may have a poorly welded brake-pedal plate. Just under 1,000 units of the Arona and Ibiza model range have been recalled due to a software fault in the instrument cluster control unit. This may result in no visual or audible warning when passengers in the rear seat do not have their seatbelt fastened.

The 2,277 Cupra Formentors and Leons manufactured between September 2020 and August 2021 may have inadequate seat belt anchor points in the front seats.

All the recalls, sorted by model, are listed in the tables below.

We have written about some of the faults in the following articles.
