Toyota-bZ4X-aygo-x-recall

This week’s recalls:
– Toyota Aygo X – brake pedal, airbag
– DS7 Crossback – fire risk
– Mercedes – windshield
– Volkswagen – airbag

Seven recalls for 11 models of five carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 43rd week of 2022.

Mercedes-Benz and Toyota have announced two recalls, while DS, Land Rover and Volkswagen have one each – see the table at the end of the article.

Nearly 1,000 Toyota Aygo X small crossovers built between late February and early April 2022 were fitted with an incorrect brake pedal that can be accidentally depressed when shifting because the distance between the clutch and brake pedals is too narrow.

A joint recall for the Aygo X and the bZ4X EV relates to the front part of the curtain airbags. Defective restraint straps may be present in 3,869 vehicles. This is the second recall for the bZ4X. In July 2022, 2,700 cars were recalled for wheel hub bolts.

Mercedes-Benz recalls 795 model year 2022 SL-Class due to the roof frame panel above the windshield, which, if not adequately secured, can detach from the vehicle while driving. The 28 Mercedes C-Class from the second half of 2021 may have a defective windshield.

Nearly 3,500 Range Rovers have incorrectly fitted front impact sensors. For cars built between September 2020 and March 2022, this can cause the seat belt restraint system to malfunction and lead to serious injuries to occupants.

Volkswagen is extending the recall for older models equipped with Takata airbags. 438,728 owners of Fox, Polo, Passat and Crafter models from 2007 to 2009 are expected to head to the workshop.

Details on this week’s recalls can be found in the table below.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
