Ford, Mercedes and Maserati announced hybrid SUV recalls (week 30/22)

This week’s recalls:
– Mercedes GLE – wiring harness
– Ford Kuga – fire risk
– Maserati Levante – grounding cable

Three recalls for three models of three manufacturers were announced via Rapex in the 30th week of 2022.

Maserati and Mercedes-Benz have one recall each – see the table at the end of the article.

Improperly attached ground cables of the 48V motor can lead to electrical faults and increase the risk of fire with the 1,597 Maserati Levante mHEV SUVs produced in August and September 2021.

Nearly 34,000 Mercedes GLE plug-in hybrids may have a poorly tightened 12V wiring harness bolt connection. The electrical resistance of the connection could increase, and the temperature may therefore rise in this area, posing a risk of fire. The recall is issued for vehicles built between April 2019 and November 2021.

Do you know the year your car was made? You most probably don’t

Ford recalls over 100,000 Kuga hybrid SUVs due to increased risk of engine compartment fire. The recall applies to vehicles manufactured between August 2019 and June 2022. It is not yet listed in the EU Rapex alert system, but Ford-Werke GmbH has already published important details.
