This week’s recalls:
– Lexus – fuel leakage

– Mercedes-Benz – airbag
A single recall was issued via the EU Rapex alert system in week 3 of 2023 for just nine Mercedes-Benz EQEs built between November 2021 and March 2022 due to an ESP software update. Due to its small scale, we have not included this recall in our database.
However, we have also started to follow the recalls announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority KBA (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt) since the beginning of 2023. Last week, four campaigns were added to this list.
Alfa Romeo, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Opel have one recall each.

Nearly a quarter of a million (245,000) Lexus vehicles built between 2011 and 2018 require service to replace the fuel tank vent line. Some GS, IS, and RC models could catch fire due to fuel leaks. The KBA number of the recall is ‘012358‘ and the manufacturer code is ’22SMD-114’.
Worldwide, 512 Mercedes C-Class vehicles built between 2021 and 2022 are being recalled. The reason for the recall is a potential airbag wiring harness blockage, which could result in reduced airbag functionality. The recall is being carried out under the KBA reference number “012419” and the manufacturer’s internal code “9190018”.
The other two recalls added to the KBA database this week are smaller in scale. Alfa Romeo recalls 65 Tonale SUVs produced in 2022. The reason is a faulty battery that could lead to a loss of power or fire. The 48V battery will be replaced by the dealer. This recall is under KBA reference number “012450“, and the manufacturer code is “6529”.
Due to a possible voltage deviation of the high-voltage battery cells, 30 of the 2019 Opel Grandland X are being recalled. KBA is investigating the measure under reference number “012411“, and the manufacturer code is “O8G (22-C-062)”.
