Six recalls for 13 models of five carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 40th week of 2022.
Opel has announced two recalls, while Audi, BMW, Jaguar, and Mercedes-Benz have one each – see the table at the end of the article.

More than 200,000 Opel Corsa vehicles equipped with “ECOLED” headlights may not warn the driver when the turn signals are malfunctioning, which could cause an accident. The software should take around 45 minutes to modify at an authorised workshop. The recall covers cars manufactured from July 2019 to June 2021.
Opel is also recalling over 200 Vivaro and Zafira Life vans with production dates between mid-March and the end of April 2022. Improper high voltage wiring harness could cause temperature rise and burning of contacts inside the connector, which could cause significant damage to the power supply system, increasing the risk of fire.

Audi recalls more than 5,600 Audi A3/RS3 vehicles manufactured between February 2021 and April 2022 due to a defect in the passenger airbag. The airbag may be improperly folded, which could prevent it from deploying in the event of an accident.
Other airbag issues have been reported by JLR with the 2007 to 2018 Jaguar XF and by Mercedes-Benz with S-Class, produced between September 2020 to December 2021. In the case of the three-pointed star flagship, trim parts of the backrest on both front seats can detach during rear airbag deployment.
BMW has announced this week’s sixth recall for a minimal number of X2, X1, X3, X5, 5, 3 and 7 Series cars. Increased self-discharge and fire risk may only occur on 30 cars built between December 2019 and September 2022. We have, therefore, not added the recall action under code 0061100700 (Rapex A12/01377/22) to the list. If you own a car manufactured in this period, contact your nearest BMW dealer just to be sure.
