Traction battery problems: Citroens, DS and Peugeots at risk of fire (week 23/23)

This week’s recalls:
– Citroën, DS, Peugeot – fire risk
– Mercedes GLC – brakes
– Bentley – entertainment screens


Six recalls for six models of five makes were announced via Rapex in the 23rd week of 2023. Four more recalls were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Two recalls have been announced this week by Peugeot, while Bentley, Citroen, DS Automobiles and Mercedes-Benz have one recall each at Rapex.

Opel, Renault, Tesla a Volkswagen are also recalling through the KBA.

Rapex Recalls announced in the 23rd week of 2023

Bentley Flying Spur (2020 – 2022) The rear seat entertainment screens, behind the front seats, may not be correctly attached.
Citroen C5 Aircross (2020 – 2023) Water infiltration can cause corrosion in the battery housing, creating a risk of fire.
DS7 Crossback (2019 – 2022) Water infiltration can cause corrosion in the battery housing, creating a risk of fire.
Mercedes-Benz GLC (2023) The wheel and/or brake vent screws may not be tightened with sufficient torque.
Peugeot 3008 (2019 – 2022) The traction battery can overheat due to faulty monitoring software and catch fire.
Peugeot 3008 (2019 – 2022) Water infiltration can cause corrosion in the battery housing, creating a risk of fire.
