Seven recalls for 10 models of six manufacturers were announced via Rapex in the 41st week of 2021.
Nissan has announced two recalls, while Bentley, Hyundai, Jeep, Land Rover, and Volvo have one each – see table at the end of the article.

Approximately 56,000 Nissan Juke vehicles built between September 2019 and August 2020 may have a problem with the rear seat backrest locking. Due to a design change introducing an internal chamfer in the rear seatback lock button, the latch actuation rod can catch on this chamfer, preventing its upwards movement. As a result, the rear seatback may not be securely latched when returned to its upright position after folding. The occupant of the rear seat and any items stored in the luggage compartment may not be correctly restrained in the event of an accident. Nissan also recalls NV400 vans manufactured this February because of a possible parking brake failure. In this case, 236 vehicles may be affected.
Nearly 1,000 Land Rover Defenders and Discovery are being recalled for lack of passenger seat occupancy detection. No audible signal sounds and warning symbols will appear on the instrument panel to warn the driver when the front passenger seat is occupied, but the seat belt is not fastened. The error in the assembly process occurred between 10 July 2020 and 11 August 2021.
Volvo recalls older S60 and S80 models because of defective driver airbags. Fragments of the inflator inside the airbag may project out when activated, causing injuries to the car occupants. Hyundai is issuing another recall for the Genesis model due to a fire risk, while Jeep recalls the Gladiator and Wrangler again due to a clutch pressure plate. The Bentley Bentayga may experience a failure of the ESC system, leading to a loss of control over the vehicle.
