Improperly mounted wheels on Mazda CX-60; defective airbag on Hyundai and BMW (week 16/23)

Mazda-CX-60-alloy-wheels-recall

This week’s recalls:
– Mazda CX-60 – alloy wheels
– Hyundai Santa Fe, BMW X1, iX1, iX – airbag
– DS4 – subframe
– Mercedes Sprinter – fire risk

Seven recalls for nine models of six makes were announced via Rapex in the 16th week of 2023. Three more recalls were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Mercedes-Benz has two recalls this week, while Alpine, BMW, DS Automobile, Hyundai and Mazda have one each at Rapex – see the table at the end of the article. Honda, KIA and Nissan are also recalling through the KBA.

The alloy wheels on Mazda CX-60s must have bushings in the wheel stud holes, which may be missing or incorrectly fitted on some wheels. Mazda, therefore, recalls 12,593 cars built from June to December 2022.

Less than 1,000 2020-2022 Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs may not have appropriately installed front seat belt pre-tensioners.

Over 20,000 BMW X1, iX1 and iX produced until early February 2023 are recalled due to a misfolded airbag.

The B-pillar may be faulty, resulting in the window airbag being damaged when deployed and fragmented parts can be projected inside the 369 Mercedes EQBs built in the summer of 2022.

DS Automobiles and Alpine are reporting problems with the production and assembly of the chassis. On 315,000 Mercedes Sprinters, a heating system fuse can cause a fire.

The KBA Recalls

A recall for 1,657 Honda Civic Type Rs for a poorly welded seat frame appeared in the KBA database last week. Fuel may be leaking from 269 2022 Kia Sorento SUVs. 285,000 2016-2021 Nissan Micra‘s are being recalled because the rear stopper of the lower seat rail can break.

What did we write about a week ago: Hundreds of thousands of older Audi, BMW and Skoda cars are recalled for Takata airbags (week 15/23)

We also recently published an article Dekra: These are the most and least reliable cars in 100,000 km tests.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
