Suspension, steering, electronics, and fire – Japanese recalls (week 46/25)

Nissan-Qashqai-recall

This week’s recalls:
– Toyota, Lexus, Suzuki – instrument panel
– Nissan – fire risk
– Suzuki – power steering

Overview of recalls in the 46 week of 2025

Three recalls for four models of two brands were announced via EU Safety Gate in the 46th week of 2025. Eight recalls for 21 models of seven brands have been published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Two recall campaigns can be found this week in the European Safety Gate system for Audi. One recall campaign has been issued for Ferrari.

Dacia, Honda, Jeep, Lexus, Nissan, Suzuki and Toyota are announcing recalls via the German KBA.

Instrument panel

Last week, Toyota recalled over a million cars, including several Lexus models, due to a potential malfunction of the rear-view camera. This week, another nearly three million cars from both brands, produced between 2022 and 2025, are being recalled due to a potential instrument panel shutdown. This is due to incorrect programming leading to memory overload. This same defect may also affect 8,031 Suzuki Across and Swace vehicles produced between October 2022 and December 2024.

Fire risk

Nissan is recalling 390,595 Qashqai SUVs that were manufactured between May 2021 and October 2024. This is due to the risk of wear to the fuel line caused by friction with surrounding components. This can lead to fuel leakage and fire. If minor wear is identified, a sleeve will be installed at an authorised service centre. If more severe damage is identified, the entire fuel line will be replaced.

Power steering

Suzuki is on the KBA recall list twice this week, with two more models affected. The Vitara and the SX4 S-Cross may misinterpret a fault in the power steering control unit, causing the system to shut down. The Japanese car manufacturer is recalling 15,890 vehicles produced in 2024.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
