Overview of the recalls in the 36th week of 2024
Five recalls for nine models of five manufacturers were issued via EU Safety Gate in week 36 of 2024. Six recalls for ten models were announced via the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
One recall can be found in the European Safety Gate system for Jaguar, Kia, Lexus, Porsche and Subaru.
Audi, BMW, Dodge, Fiat, Renault and Volkswagen are recalling via the KBA.

Turbochargers
The oil supply line and hoses on the left side of the turbocharger can be damaged due to heat from the exhaust manifold in nearly 70,000 2017 to 2021 Kia K9 and Kia Stinger vehicles. This can cause oil leaks, and if the oil comes into contact with hot parts of the exhaust, it can cause a fire in the engine compartment. Several Jaguar models from 2021 to 2024 may also have a problem with oil leakage from the turbocharger inlet manifold (see table at the end of the article).
Volkswagen and EGR
Volkswagen is recalling 1,274,761 vehicles of various model series (see here) manufactured between 2009 and 2015 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is the non-compliance of EGR reduction via ambient temperature with Regulation (EC) No. 715/2007 and the ECJ rulings of July 2022 (the so-called “thermal window” between 15 °C and 33 °C).
Risk of fire
Renault is recalling 80,173 Renault Master vans built between 2014 and 2023 due to insufficient clearance on the engine wiring harness, which can cause abrasion on the fuel line and pose a fire risk.
