Ford announced two new recalls with the Focus, Ecosport, and Transit Connect models. Problems may occur with the brake booster and Power Distribution Box (PDB).
The first recall concerns Focuses manufactured between 14 October and 16 November 2019, with which the pins of the Power Distribution Box (PDB) might have been defectively manufactured and cause an intermittent or poor connection. As a result, some accessories, daytime running lights, and various warning lights may malfunction.
The pins need to be checked and adjusted as necessary. The internal code of the recall is “19S42“, and it covers 4,528 vehicles worldwide.
In addition to Focuses, the second recall also concerns the Ecosport and Transit Connect models. With the cars manufactured between 14 and 28 January 2020, the brake booster may fail due to a manufacturing defect. At an authorized service center, the booster will be tested and replaced if necessary.
In this case, the recall code is “20S05” and the fault may occur with 5,031 vehicles worldwide.
