This week’s recalls:
– Fiat, Jeep – brake callipers
– Mercedes Sprinter – rear lights
– Lexus – fuel pump
– Land Rover – eCall
Five recalls for 11 models were issued by five carmakers in the 12th week of 2020. Fiat, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz announced one recall each.
The brake callipers may be cracked with the Fiat 500 X and the Jeep Renegade manufactured between 14 November 2019 – 17 December 2019. This can result in a loss of braking performance and subsequent accidents.
With the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter from the first half of 2019, a malfunction of the control unit software when the switch is operated quickly can cause the rear lights to fail or to lit too weakly.
With several Lexus models from the years 2013 to 2019 (see the table below), surface cracking may occur on the impeller of the low-pressure fuel pump. The impeller may deform, causing the fuel pump to become inoperative and the engine to stall.
The Emergency Call (eCall) system is incorrectly configured with the Range Rover Evoque manufactured between July 2018 to January 2020.
