Mazda MX-30: Starting problems

Mazda-MX-30-2023-Starting-problems

Mazda has announced a recall due to engine starting problems. There are problems with the software control on potentially 9,585 units of the MX-30 (DR) across Europe. The On-Board Charger (OBC) may incorrectly detect that the charging cable is connected to the vehicle. The following messages may be shown in the multi-information display even if the charging cable is not connected:
– Disconnect the charger to start the vehicle and/or.
– EV charger connected. Vehicle cannot be started.

The vehicle will not start unless the driver can switch to Ready-ON. The message may display in certain situations, such as when attempting to start the vehicle (Ready OFF to Ready ON) or when the vehicle is temporarily stopped while driving.

As a measure, the On-Board Charger (OBC) is updated to the current production status at the workshop. The registration period for the vehicles in question is 19.04.2022 to 30.03.2023. The VIN range is JMZDR 1WBJ 00 200017 – 209626. The recall bears the internal code “AP028AV“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
