Jeep Avenger: The e-call system only communicates in French

Jeep-Avenger-ecall-french-kba

Jeep is recalling 5,597 Avenger vehicles built between 2022 and 2023 to workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the e-call system only communicates with the vehicle occupants in French until the emergency call is answered.

In the workshop, the software of the on-board radio transmitter is updated via the installed roof aerial using the OTA (Over The Air) procedure. This must then be accepted by the user on the infotainment screen. A visit to the workshop is not necessary if the software update has been successfully transferred.

The recall of the monitoring by the KBA is under investigation. The recall under the reference number is “013365” and the internal manufacturer code is “C2A“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
