This week’s recalls:
– Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6 – loss of drive

– Hyundai Kona and Santa Fé – gearbox
Last week, instead of our usual weekly overview of the recalls, we brought you an extensive article on the ADAC Reliability Index for 2024. The announced recalls were not covered, so we’ll take a look at their list now.
One could say that June has been reserved for Hyundai in the Safety Gate alert system so far. The Korean manufacturer has announced three recalls for six of its models in the sixth month of 2024. One recall has been added by the sister brand Kia.

Loss of drive for Hyundai and Kia EVs
155,760 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 vehicles manufactured between January 2021 and February 2024 may experience a 12-volt battery charging failure and switch to emergency mode. Driving in this mode may result in a complete loss of driving performance. The same fault may also affect 225,000 Kia EV6s from around the same production period.
Hyundai Kona and Santa Fe transmission
The Hyundai Kona and Santa Fé may experience error messages that lead to a DCT (Double Clutch Transmission) emergency mode and loss of drive power. 43,258 cars from 2020 to 2022 may be affected.
Hyundai i20 and Bayon transmission
An unspecified number of Hyundai i20 and Bayon vehicles may also have a fault in the dual-clutch transmission or its control unit. This may lead to unintended deceleration with cars built between late March 2023 and mid-January 2024.
