Overview of the recalls in the 8th week of 2025
Two recalls for five models of two brands were published via EU Safety Gate in week 8 of 2025. Nine recalls for 21 models of nine brands were released by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
Alpina and Honda each have one recall in the European Safety Gate system this week.
Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Citroen, Dacia, Ford, Hyundai, Opel, Peugeot and Volkswagen are recalling via the KBA.

Stiffening of the steering
A reduction in the amount of grease in the steering gear may cause unstable steering resistance in three Honda model lines. Honda Civic, Honda CR-V and Honda ZR-V manufactured between August 2021 and August 2024 could be affected, resulting in a loss of vehicle control and an increased risk of accidents and injuries.
Brake problems
Alfa Romeo is recalling 6,355 Giulia and Stelvio models built between 2019 and 2020 due to an incorrectly fitted brake cover that could cause a poor connection between the brake pedal and the brake booster. According to the KBA protocol, this would mean that the vehicle could only be stopped by emergency braking.
Airbags
The first recall has been announced for the new Volkswagen Tayron SUV. 1,637 vehicles produced in 2025 may have a faulty control panel that could reduce the protection provided by the front passenger airbag in the event of a crash in which the front passenger airbag is deployed. A total of 2,321 Chevrolet Silverado pickups are also being recalled this week for head airbag problems.
