Overview of the recalls in 39th week of 2023
Seven recalls for 11 models of seven carmakers were announced via Rapex in the 39th week of 2023. Four more recalls were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
Bentley, Hyundai, Kia, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Škoda and Toyota have one recall each at Rapex.
Opel, Seat, Škoda and Toyota are also recalling through the KBA.

Engine and brake booster in Hyundai and Kia
With 19,141 Hyundai Kona and Hyundai i40 vehicles from 2018 to 2020, the oil supply to the engine may be interrupted, and the engine may be suddenly damaged. In addition, the brake booster could fail, requiring significantly more pressure on the brake pedal and increasing the risk of an accident. A similar problem occurs with several Kia models.
Passenger airbag on Skoda Fabia
Skoda is recalling 49,214 Fabia cars manufactured between 2021 and 2022. The reason for the measure is a manufacturing deviation that could lead to the passenger airbag rupturing or malfunctioning when activated.
