Citroen and DS: Cracks in the particle filter

Citroen-C4-particle-filter

Worldwide, 46,407 Citroën C4 (pictured) and C5 with 2.0 L diesel engines produced between 2017 and 2022 will have to go back to the workshop. At DS, the DS7 Crossback models are affected, with 46,339 vehicles produced between 2012 and 2022. The reason for the measure is overheating, which can lead to cracks in the particle filter. As a result, the exhaust emissions cannot be complied with. In Germany, 5,278 Citroën and 6,310 DS are affected by the recall.

The particle filters will be checked in the workshop and, if necessary, replaced in order to prevent possible cracking of the particulate filter. The KBA is investigating the action under reference numbers “012398” and “011981”, while the internal code is “JCE” for Citroën and “JCB” for DS.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
