This week’s recalls:

– Citroën – airbags
– Opel – emissions

Overview of the recalls in the 18th week of 2024

Three recalls for four models of three manufacturers were issued via EU Safety Gate in week 18 of 2024. Three recalls for seven models were announced by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Citroën, Kia and Opel have one recall each in the European Safety Gate system.

BMW, Ford and Land Rover are issuing recalls via the KBA.

BMW and Citroen airbags

BMW is recalling through the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) 6,563 of the 2, 3, 4, M3 and M4 series vehicles built between 2013 and 2014 due to faulty head airbag gas inflators, which may have suffered corrosive damage over time. Citroen‘s recall for C3 and DS3 models from 2009 to 2017 is the third extension of a recall initially announced in 2023. Already then, nearly 190,000 cars with Takata airbags were affected.

Emissions in the Opel Meriva

Nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions exceed the regulatory limits in 26,581 Opel and Vauxhall Merivas produced between April 2013 and March 2017.

Defective welds on the frame

Ford is recalling 4,982 Transits built between 2023 and 2024 due to defective weld seams that can lead to frame damage.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
