Withdrawal of the Steering wheel cover from the market

The Cartech company must withdraw the black First Class PU steering wheel cover from the market due to EU regulatory requirements.

The plastic of the product contains an excessive amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), notably benzo[a]anthracene (BaA), chrysen (CHR), Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), benzo[b]fluoranthene (BbFA), benzo[e]pyrene (BeP), benzo[k]fluoranthene (BkFA) and benzo[j]fluoranthene (BjFA) and (measured values: 75 mg/kg, 71 mg/kg, 15 mg/kg, 15 mg/kg, 13 mg/kg, 11 mg/kg and 9.3 mg/kg by weight respectively). The product does not comply with the REACH regulation.

These PAHs may cause cancer and are also mutagenic and toxic for reproduction.
