Volkswagen recalls older Phaeton model over emissions manipulation

Volkswagen is recalling 91,137 Phaeton vehicles manufactured between 2004 and 2008 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the vehicles contain unauthorised defeat devices in the emission control system.

The engine control unit software will be updated at an authorised workshop.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14670R“. The internal manufacturer code is “23FE“.
