This week’s recalls:
– Volkswagen, Skoda – airbags
– Lamborghini – doors
– Mazda – gearbox software

Overview of recalls in the 32 week of 2025

Five recalls for 13 models of four brands were announced via EU Safety Gate in the 32 week of 2025. Three recalls for three models of three brands have been published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).

Two recalls were announced in the European Safety Gate system for Peugeot. One recall each can be found this week for carmakers Mercedes-Benz, Skoda and Volkswagen.

Through the German KBA, the Ford, Lamborghini and Mazda carmakers are recalling.

Airbags, airbags, airbags…

All three of the recalls that appeared in the Safety Gate database this week are related to airbag problems. Mercedes is recalling 222,969 Viano and Vito vans from 2002 to 2006, while Volkswagen is recalling around 18,000 cars from six model lines (see the table at the end of the article) built between May 2022 and May 2025. Finally, 1,666 Škoda Fabia and Škoda Superb vehicles produced between 7 September 2022 and 20 March 2025 are also affected. In all of these vehicles, the passenger airbag could potentially cause serious or even fatal injury to occupants.

Trapped in a Lamborghini

The Lamborghini Revuelto’s doors close using their own weight. If you’re sitting in the car, you’ll probably be relieved that they didn’t fall on top of you. However, you’ll only be happy until you try to get out. Without the help of the gas struts, the heavy doors won’t lift. You’ll then have to wait for someone strong to come along and rescue you. The Revuelto has also previously been recalled due to a potential wiper malfunction or fuel leak, which poses a fire risk. What a bargain! 🙂

Stop&(not)Go at Mazda

Mazda is recalling 19,347 CX-60 SUVs this week due to a software defect in the transmission control module that can cause the engine to become unresponsive to the accelerator pedal after braking and stopping. This issue may affect vehicles manufactured between September 2022 and March 2024.

Details on this week’s Rapex recalls can be found in the table below.

We write about the KBA recalls in the following articles:

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
