Overview of the recalls in the 51th week of 2024
Eight recalls for 18 models of six manufacturers were issued via EU Safety Gate in week 51 of 2024. Eleven recalls for 41 models of eleven manufacturers were announced via the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
Ford and Jeep have each announced two recalls this week and one recall each can be found in the European Safety Gate system for Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Opel and Rolls-Royce.
BMW, Citroen, DS, Fiat, Ford, Kia, Mini, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Renault and Volvo are recalling via the KBA.

Ford and Kia Recalls
Ford is recalling more than 760,000 vehicles across several model lines to have their diesel particulate filter (DPF) recalibrated, remanufactured, inspected and, if necessary, replaced at an authorized workshop. Diesel versions of the B-Max, C-Max, Ecosport, Fiesta, Focus, Galaxy, Kuga, Mondeo, Ranger, S-Max, Tourneo Connect, Tourneo Courier, Transit Connect and Transit Courier manufactured between 2014 and 2023 may be affected.
More than 600,000 Kia hybrids may experience a short circuit in the hydraulic clutch actuator, which could lead to a fire. The vehicles in question are the Kia Niro HEV and Niro PHEV produced from 2015 to 2022 and the Kia Ceed PHEV and Ceed CUV PHEV produced between 2019 and 2023.
Advanced Driver Assistance
Several car brands may have problems with Advanced Driver Assistance. A fault in the software may cause the emergency braking and lane departure warning systems to deactivate at the same time. The recalls affect 34,977 Peugeot 2008, 208 and 508 vehicles built between 2023 and 2024, as well as Citroen C4 and Fiat 600. And speaking of assistants, the braking one (ESP and ABS) can also fail in the Mini Aceman, Cooper and Countryman also from 2023 and 2024. But this is due to a faulty weld on the servo motor, which can break under hard braking. Fifteen BMW models could be affected by the same defect.
Volvo and emissions
More than 50,000 Volvo S90, V90, XC60 and XC90 cars produced between 2017 and 2020 may have increased nitrogen oxide emissions that exceed the legal limits. The software will be updated at an authorised workshop.
