Toyota RAV4: Hybrid system may shut down while driving

Toyota-RAV4-2023-hybrid-system-shut-down

Toyota is recalling 225 RAV4 vehicles manufactured between 17 March and 2 October 2023 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that, in vehicles with a second immobiliser, there is a risk that the hybrid system may unexpectedly shut down while driving if the key is not recognised.

In an authorized workshop, the wiring harness of the auxiliary immobiliser will be reworked.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “15028R“. The internal manufacturer code is “24SD-169“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
