Jeep is recalling 3,615 Renegade and Compass vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2024 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that incorrect tightening torque on the connections of the 12V battery charging cable can cause the vehicle to not start, come to a standstill during operation, or, in the worst case, cause a vehicle fire.
In an authorized workshop, the connection of the 12V battery charging cable will be checked and replaced if necessary.
The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14120R“. The internal manufacturer code is “74B“.

What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
