Overview of the recalls in the 18th week of 2025
There were no passenger car recalls announced through Safety Gate in Week 18 2025, but there have been a couple of trailer recalls recently, so we’re devoting today’s overview to them. Four recalls for four models of four brands were released by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
BMW, Fiat, Opel and Toyota are recalling via the KBA.

Trailer recalls
Four models manufactured by Dutch trailer manufacturer Hapert may have a defective weld at the transition between the rigid axle and the wheel housing, which can break and lead to the sudden loss of a wheel. 1,246 Azure, Cobalt, Indigo and Sapphire trailers manufactured between 1 April and 30 September 2024 may be affected. 449 Danish Variant trailers with a production date between 1 April and 8 October 2024 and 141 Henra PL, KP, MT and GP trailers produced between 1 April 2024 and 31 October 2024, as well as 94 Humbaur trailers with a similar production period, may have the same problem.
Almost 1,000 (994) Brenderup Cargo Dynamic trailers manufactured in Poland are at risk that the tires may scrape against a protruding bolt while driving, which could lead to a flat tire and increase the risk of an accident. The trailers in question were manufactured between 30 April 2022 and 21 August 2024.
Three types of trailers are also being recalled by the Hungarian manufacturer Valkai. These are the Valkai 21 food trailer, Valkai 22 food trailer and Valkai 11 livestock carrier. These trailers have multiple defects, including incorrect wheel-tyre size combination, faulty height-track ratio and lighting and light-signalling, undersized axles and weight exceeding the approval etc.

GM recalls 600,000 6.2L V8 engines
We found this recall on our website car-recalls.com, where we track recalls in the USA. General Motors (GM) has issued a major recall for 597,630 vehicles with the 6.2-litre L87 eight-cylinder petrol engine. It covers vehicles from model years 2021 to 2024 and includes popular Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac SUVs and pickups. This is due to a potential manufacturing defect in the connecting rods and crankshafts that could lead to serious engine damage or complete engine failure.
