The bolts in the Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU), a part of the High Voltage (HV) battery, are not torqued according to the specifications.

As a result, the car may not be able to charge, to drive, or to start, increasing the risk of an accident.

The Volvo XC40 models affected by this recall were equipped with PHEV hybrid engines and manufactured in 2020. VIN range: from 0286039 to 0336382.
