Volkswagen Passat (2019 – 2021)

Volkswagen-Passat-2020-brake-pedal-booster-rod

The push/actuating rod may not be properly screwed onto the brake booster and could become detached. As a result, there would no longer be any mechanical connection between the foot brake and the brake booster. Consequently, braking will be possible only by actuating the regulated emergency-braking function of the electronic parking brake (EPB) using the EPB switch on the central console.

The Volkswagen Passat vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 15 November 2019 and 12 May 2021.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
