An insulation malfunction can lead to a short circuit in the battery system.

In the event of a double malfunction (i.e. two affected cell modules in one battery), this could potentially lead to a fire.

The Volkswagen e-Up! models affected by this recall were manufactured between 11 May and 24 June 2020.
