Due to improper programming, the vehicle may not enter a fail-safe driving mode if a temporary slip occurs in the hybrid transmission system, increasing the risk of an accident.

The Toyota Yaris HEV vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 7 July and 13 November 2020.
