Toyota Verso (2015 – 2017)

Toyota-Verso-egr-fire

Due to insufficient durability, the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may develop an internal coolant leak which could create smouldering deposits inside the EGR cooler and the intake manifold.

This may result in localised thermal damage in the intake system, which might lead to engine power reduction and to increased risk of fire.

The Toyota Verso models affected by this recall were manufactured between 2 March 2015 to 9 November 2017.

Toyota recall code: 21SMD-029
Affected models: Auris (WWE185), Avensis (WWT270, WWT271), RAV4 (WWA42), Verso (WAR20);
Vehicle numbers (in Europe): 122 000

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
